Demolition derbies

 

General rules

 

-Demolition derbies are hazardous and high risk sport, therefore anyone with a health  condition or who is pregnant should not compete.

-Edelweiss is not responsible for any injuries sustained either  by driver or pit crew. It is your responsibility to carry your own insurance for this purpose.

-Edelweiss has a zero tolerance policy for the consumption or possession of any alcohol or controlled substance by the driver or pit crew. Any person found in possesion or under the influence of such substances will be disqualified from participation in the event and will not be issued a refund.

-All drivers must attend the drivers meeting on the day of the event.

-Drivers must be 18 years of age.

-All cars must have a number on both front doors and on the roof.

-Edelweiss reserves the right to refuse entry for any reason and to reject any person at any time.

-If your car is disqualified for any reason you WILL NOT be given a refund.

-All cars must have working seat belt.

-All drivers must have a CSA approved helmets.

-Safety glasses or helmet shield must be worn at all times.

-NO shorts: drivers should wear coveralls and safety footwear.

-ALL cars must have a working CSA approved fire extinguisher secured within reach of the driver.

 

Vehicule preparation

 

1. All flammable material except the dash bord and drivers seat be removed.

2. All lights, trailer hitches, chrome moldings and exterior trim must be removed.

3. All windows and mirrors (GLASS) must be removed.

4. Stock gas tanks must be removed. Must use CSA Marine gas tank or custom metal tank. Gas tank must be securely mounted in the middle of the back seat.

5. After inspection, gas tanks must be recovered with a fire-proof shield ie: rubber mat.

6. All fuel lines MUST HAVE leak proof fitting with steel or rubber lines. NO EXCEPTIONS.

7. Battery must be removed to the front passenger floor and placed in a box/ container away from the gas tank and MUST be recovered with a shield after inspection. Only one(1) 12 volt car battery allowed.

8. Radiator must be in the stock position and filled with water NOTANTIFREEZE.

9. No welding of frame seams top or bottom. Rusty or bent frames may be repaired with steel no thicker than factory and no longer than 4” on 2 sides only. Over repaired frames will be considered reinforced  and will result in discalification. Officials discretion.

10. Only car bumbers may be used. Bumpers styles may NOT be interchanged. Must remain front on front and rear on rear. 1970’s bumbers CANNOT be used on 1980’s cars. Bumber shocks and mounting brakets may be welded. Bumpers can be chained and the ends mays be cut straight off. NO truck bumbers or reinforced bumbers.

11. A maximum of three (3) bars maybe run inside the driver’s door for safety.

12. Larges holes in the floor AND sun roofs must be covered  with metal that is securely fatened.

13. Rims must be stock. There is no limit on tread, ply or tire size. Tires are to fill with air only. No fluids or chemicals. No studs or screwing tires to rims. All wheel weights, trim rings and hubcaps must be removed.

14. All air bags and air bag sensors must be disabled.

15. No “C” channel allowed on the side of the car.

16. All work must be done prior to arrival at the event venue.

17. All parts and vehicules must be removed from the event site.

18.At any time troughout the derby any car can be re-inspected.
